There is no Present Khalifa of Islam (caliphs) nor Prophet in the current age of Islam! The era of the Caliphate ended decades ago after the departure of Hazrat Ali R.A. However, according to the History of Caliphate, after the Rashidun Caliphate (the caliphate of four caliphs), the Ummayad Dynasty(661–750) by Mu’awiya established and continued till Abbasid Caliphate (750–1258).
However several Hadees have been said by our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W about the Khalifa (Caliphs) and their Caliphates which proves the fact that there is no present Khalifa of Islam and Muhammad S.A.W is the last messenger and prophet of Allah.
Safinah narrated to Sa’eed bin Jumhan that Muhammad S.A.W. said:
“The succession of prophecy is thirty years, then God gives the kingdom to whomever He wills.”
Muhammad further said;
“The caliphate of Abu Bakr, the caliphate of Umar, and the caliphate of Usman. Then he said to me: Hold on to the caliphate of Ali. He said: We found it to be thirty years.”
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2226, In-book reference: Book 33, Hadith 69, English translation: Vol. 4, Book 7, Hadith 2226)

The End of Rashidun Caliphate (632-661)
As the Rashidun Caliphate started after the departure of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W. and Hazrat Abu Bakr R.A. took the oath to become the first wise Caliph (632-634). After Hazrat Abu Bakr R.A., the chain of Caliphate continued till the three next Caliph, Hazrat Umar R.A., Hazrat Usman R.A., and Hazrat Ali R.A.
It was a debate over Hazrat Ali R.A.’s succession that caused Islam to split into two sects: the Sunni, who consider themselves traditionalists, and the Shiah, also known as the “party of Ali.” Both of these sects have lasted to the contemporary day.
The religious and very socially conservative restrictions imposed on the Rashidun were somewhat contented as Muhammad’s S.A.W contemporaries, particularly the ansar, died off and the conquest regions becomes so vast to rule together across theocracy lines; thus, the Umayyads, who succeeded the Rashidun as caliphs, were able to secularize state operations.
After Rashidun Caliphate
Following the success of the Rashidun Caliphate (632-661), the Umayyad Caliphate (661-750), and the Abbasid Caliphate (750-1258) continued until it was destroyed by the Mongol invasion in 1258 in Bagdad. Also by the end of 1922, due to the drastic situation and dynastic struggles, the first President of the Turkish Republic, instituted on March 3, 1924, the institution of the caliphate was constitutionally abolished.
Hadees e Qudsia
“The Caliphate will remain among the Quraish even if only two persons are left (on the earth)”
(Sahih Muslim 1820 In-book reference: Book 33, Hadith 4 USC-MSA web (English) reference: Book 20, Hadith 4476)
Above mentioned Hadees-e-Mubarak narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira R.A clearly states that the Caliphs can only and only be from the Quraish Tribe. This statement falsifies every person who claims to be the Caliph in today’s world.
Another Hadees narrated by Jabir b. Samura
“I heard the Messenger of Allah say: Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then the Prophet S.W.A. said something which I could not understand. I asked my father: What did he say? He said: He has said that all of them (twelve Caliphs) will be from the Quraish.”
(Sahih Muslim 1821d In-book referencE: Book 33, Hadith 8 USC-MSA web (English) reference: Book 20, Hadith 4480)
The Khilafat has ended
There is not currently a caliph of Islam, nor will there ever be, according to the Hadees that have been described above, which have been told by the pious and respective narrators. These Hadees come from authentic sources, and they assert the truth. The belief of Muslims does not permit them to preach and accept any other Caliph than the four renowned Caliphs, Hazrat Abu Bakr R.A., Hazrat Umar R.A., Hazrat Usman R.A., and Hazrat Ali R.A., who were known as “Rightly Guided” since they governed the people of that time directly following the Holy Quran and commands of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.
